COLORADO SPRINGS – (July 25, 2008) – Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. will award $10,000 to Colorado-based mobile entertainment dealer Drive-In Autosound, the first annual Pioneer Community Give Back Award winner, to present to its charity of choice. Local business leaders Kevin and Scott Clark, recognized by Pioneer for their support of the military in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, have named the Fort Carson Officer Spouses’ Club Santa’s Workshop as the recipient of Drive-In Autosound’s award. The FCOSC’s Santa’s Workshop provides gifts for children of military families who might otherwise be unable to celebrate the holidays.

The presentation ceremony will take place on July 29, 2008 at 4 P.M. at the store’s 165 Motor Way location, with Ed Sachs, president for the Mobile Business Group of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.; Kevin and Scott Clark, president/CEO and COO of Drive-In Autosound; Fort Carson Officials; Tana Caballero, FCOSC Chairperson; Martha Ragano, FCOSC President; and other invited guests.

Pioneer’s new initiative honors its dealers for outstanding community service. Sachs, who named Drive-In Autosound as the award’s first winner at the company’s annual dealer Road Show held in San Diego, California, on April 19th, stressed the importance of philanthropy to the company. “As Pioneer works hard to engage the 12-Volt community in raising awareness to the consuming public, one outreach about which we feel strongly is charity. Pioneer is, of course, directly involved in a number of philanthropic programs. However, a way to build on that foundation is to recognize the good works of our dealers and the impact they are having on a local level,” said Sachs.

“Drive-In Autosound has supported our troops in a number of ways,” Sachs added, “including accommodation rates and financing for the local military community, co-hosting football parties with radio station Kilo 94.3 FM at the community event center on Fort Carson military base and active participation in the Military Connection, which welcomes soldiers home from deployment.”

“We’re part of a military community,” said Clark acknowledging Drive-In Autosound’s Give Back Award, “so we’re proud to support the service men, women and their families at Fort Carson. Making sure that the children of military families have a good holiday is particularly dear to our hearts,” he noted on naming FCOSC’s Santa’s Club as their charity of choice. “In 2007, we collected more than $5,000 in toys during the local Toys for Tots drive throughout our five store locations. We are grateful to Pioneer for helping us provide more holiday joy this year through its Community Give Back Award.”

Tana Caballero, who will accept the award on behalf of the FCOSC’s Santa’s Workshop, spoke to the difference Drive-In Autosound’s award will mean to the organization. “The hope and purpose of Santa’s Workshop is to make it possible for all soldiers assigned to Fort Carson to provide for their children during the holidays. As one of the ‘elves’ who assists our soldiers as they come through the Workshop, I can tell you how deeply our soldiers appreciate the generosity and support that Colorado Springs and its surrounding communities so selflessly give to this cause,” Caballero said.

“This year, we are expecting 2,000 children in need,” she continued, “and I was worried about the number of families who need our help. You can’t imagine exactly how much it means that Drive-In Autosound chose our charity. The smiles and squeals of delight from happy children will surely be music to many a soldier’s ears this Christmas.”

People wishing to donate may contact FCOSC’s Santa’s Workshop at santasworkshop@fc-osc.com or Santa’s Workshop, P.O. Box 12886, Fort Carson, CO 80913.
